Do you have acne scars? If you do, you've probably ask yourself daily if these scars will ever disappear.

The short answer is no (unless you do something about it), but as you get older the appearance of the scars can get better.

They never really disappear unless you find the right ingredients or products. How much better these scars will get will depend on the severity of the scars and what you put on them.

What Are Acne Scars?

Most scars are indentions or raised places on the skin. The most common type of acne scar is what's known as atrophic scars.

With atrophic scars, the inflammation damages the underlying structures of the skin.

If the body produces too little collagen, it creates a pit because it is not filling in the damage.

If it creates too much collagen, it creates a bump on the skin known as a scar.

What Causes Acne Scars?

Did you ever wonder what causes acne scars? The most common cause is inflammatory acne.

Anytime you have an inflamed lesion like a pustule, cyst or papule, there is a possibility of a scar. This happens when excess oil, bacteria, and dead skin cells stop up one of your skin's pores or follicles.

After that, the follicle will swell until the poor wall is broken and then that is that.

Once the infection sets in, the severity of the scar will depend on the severity of the infection. This will determine whether or not a scar forms.

Why Do I Have Acne Scars?

While acne scars are quite common, not everyone is susceptible to this type of scar. Some individuals are genetically predisposed to this, but a lot of these scar problems can be prevented.

Making sure you have a proper skin care regimen will help lessen the frequency of acne.

Breakouts do occur though and if you do wind with one or more acne scars, there are a few things that you can try to get rid of them.

This oil is known to improve inflammation, redness bumps, bruising, and strained muscles.

Its also makes it a good choice to treat acne because it helps keep the inflammation down.

Arnica oil has the potential to help prevent the scars from forming.

Shea Butter for Acne Scars

This product is a moisturizer that is extracted from the African Shea tree nut.

It is good for repairing skin and is full of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants as well.

Dimethicone Silicone for Acne Scars

This product is technically a silicone-based polymer oil that has been clinically proven to improve redness, pain, scars, and itching.

It does this by increasing the elasticity of the skin and the scar.

What Treatment Should I Use for Acne Scars?

If you are prone to scars, then usually the best course of action is to try to prevent the breakout to begin with.

If there is no infection, there is no scar.

There are a few steps that you can take to minimize how bad your acne is and to help prevent a good portion of the breakouts.
